Ben Roethlisberger played 18 seasons in the NFL, retired at 39 years old, now he’s 40, despite all this longevity data, it’s impressive to think that he had his rookie campaign four years after Tom Brady‘s and at least said goodbye a year earlier than the current Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback.
Last Sunday, the Bucs visited at Acrisure Stadium the team where the famous “Big Ben” became legendary, who clearly had his eye on the surprising victory of the team that has won the most Super Bowls (6) in all of history along with TB12’s former team, the New England Patriots.
What’s wrong with Tom Brady?
The seven-time Super Bowl winner had perhaps the worst game so far this season, an issue Roethlisberger attributes much more to an attitude issue than an aptitude issue, according to his statements on his podcast.
“Tom (Brady) is the greatest. The Super Bowl rings show it,” Roethlisberger said. “(But) it looked like he didn’t want to be out there. Maybe it was the pressure and he was getting hit and whatever was going on.”
There has been much speculation as to whether TB12’s personal problems are causing the 45-year-old’s unaccustomed low productivity, especially after multiple media reports of marital problems with his wife, Brazilian top model Gisele Bndchenwhich have even led the two to hire lawyers to begin divorce proceedings.
Ben Roethlisberger’s theory about the reason for Tom Brady’s bad time
However, “Big Ben” believes that the anger Brady showed is not due to any of that, but to the problems he had because of the constant pressure he experienced from Pittsburgh’s defense.
“When a defense gets after you, sometimes, your anger and your disgust for things happen because the other team is affecting you,” Roethlisberger said. “Not because it’s you. But yeah, it looked like a different Tom.”
