Boston College turned the ball over five times en route to a 13-3 loss to UConn on Saturday afternoon at Pratt & Whitney Stadium in East Hartford, falling to 2-6 on the season. This marked the Eagles’ first-ever loss in 15 meetings with the Huskies, a series that dates back to 1908. After falling into an early 10-0 hole in the first quarter, the Eagles cut the deficit to seven with a field goal early in the second quarter, but that was as close as it got as they were shut out in the second half. Starting quarterback Phil Jurkovec was 12-of-19 passing for 155 yards and two interceptions before leaving in third quarter with an injury.
He was replaced by redshirt-freshman backup Emmett Moreheadwho finished 7-of-16 for 75 yards and an interception.
