The Ithaca College golf program wrapped up its fall season over the weekend, October 1-2, as the Bombers hosted the Ithaca Invitational at RaNic Golf Club and came away with a first place finish out of five schools.

IC fired rounds of 313 (+25) on both days to finish with a 626 (+50) on the par-72, 5,642-yard course to win by 34 strokes over Westminster College (328-332-660). The two-round total of 626 for the Bombers sets a new school record by one stroke, surpassing the previous best of 627 set back in 2013-14 (twice) and tied in 2014-15.

Allegheny College was third with a 689, while the College of St. Rose finished in fourth at 710 and William Smith College took fifth with 830. There was a total of 27 golfers in competition this weekend as St. Lawrence University and Union College also entered the tournament with individuals.

“This was a great way to finish our fall, winning our first and last tournaments of the season,” said head coach Keith Batson. “We shot our two best rounds of the year and Rheanna finished just one shot back of low medalist this weekend.”

The aforementioned Rheanna DeCrow posted her best collegiate performance as she carded a 149 (+5) over the weekend with a 75 and 74. DeCrow led by a stroke after Saturday’s round, but was surpassed by St. Rose’s Erika Fuentes on Sunday after an even par 72.

Mary Gersec took third overall with a 154 (+10) as she shot 77 on both days, while Cristea Park followed in fourth with a plus-12 156 after a pair of 78s.

Annika Michel posted an 11th place finish with a 167 (+23) as she fired an 83 on Saturday and 84 on Sunday.

Ithaca will return to action during its Spring Break trip on March 12-18, 2023, followed by its first tournament on April 1-2 at Westminster.
